So this is pretty exciting. I’m on the Hillside Inside committee (a winter derivative of the Hillside Festival which is a 3-day festival in Guelph Ontario). We needed to come up with a concept for our 2011 branding so we could get an ad out asap and into the Hillside Festival summer program.
In 2011, Hillside Inside is going to be more like Montreal Pop or NXNE and totally integrated into downtown venues. In this concept, we wanted to showcase some of our beautiful downtown architecture and convey the idea of Hillside sweeping around downtown and filling the streets. So with that, I figured we could acheive the effect using my friend and photographer Karolina Kuras and one of her techniques using sparklers. So the crazy swirls you see are me running through an alley in the middle of the night.
In the winter, we’ll keep the concept going but get some good Ontario snow in the shot too.
